Second Helpings Hawaii is founded on three distinct pillars of support and Faith Based Support is the most important. The challenges of living in transition can be much more bearable within the warm embrace of a spiritual family where belonging, peace, tranquility, grace and forgiveness can be found. Second Helpings Hawaii believes providing a strong spiritual foundation is the key to building a renewed life.

Aloha my sisters in Christ,
My many years of ministry as pastor of a small Catholic Christian parish on the Windward side of Oahu, have convinced me of the value of having Jesus Christ at the heart of our daily lives. This is not just an essential option for abundant living, but the vital component to a full and meaningful life.
Life places before us many difficult challenges. The truth is, no one can truly meet us at the depth of our struggles except God. The answer to our human struggles, longings, aspirations, joys and peace can only be found in His Only Son, Jesus Christ; the Way, the Truth and the Life, sent for our salvation (John 3:16).
As a parish Ohana, as expressed in our Parish Mission Statement; we “stand united as a committed multicultural parish in prayer and faith.” We strive to promote a Christian culture that empowers all who come to us to experience the truth in belonging, find inner strength, improve family and personal life and most of all; enjoy the peace that comes from the love God has for each one of us.
We invite women in transition from Kailua Women’s Community Correctional Center (WCCC), to consider our parish as their initial step of re-entry into society and source of spiritual support. Our arms are open wide in welcome.
Most important, it is our sincere hope our Ohana centered parish will provide the needed safe and positive transitional steps to encounter God and His infinite love and peace in your journey.
